Denis MacShane is just a Labour puppet

March 9, 2010 | Filed Under English Politics, General, UK Politics | Leave a Comment

Total Politics has been rocked [well..] with the resignation of Denis MacShane from the editorial board over Iain Dale’s interview with Nick Griffin. I personally think no-platforming someone like him is just idiotic. It’s views like that which caused The Exorcist to become so popular.

Anyway, for those thinking Denis MacShane was a useful and independent thinker, just look at this idiotic, obviously planted question in Prime Minister’s Questions:

Insurance for dogs? Whatever next?

March 9, 2010 | Filed Under General, Humour/Odd, Media, UK Politics | 1 Comment

Would comedy teeth lower the annual cost of insurance?

Oh dear, here we go again! A few dangerous dog stories in the Daily Mail and everyone spouts out suggestions to stop it. This happens every 18 months or so, the media decide to hype up a hate campaign against ‘nasty dogs’ and then it eventually dies down. Except in this case Labour want to bring in legislation forcing dog owners to take insurance out on their dog in case it bites anyone.

What about taking out insurance on their children in case they attack anyone? Far more likely and that’s in the news everyday!

Surely this IS BBC bias?

Umm yes, that is true I suppose. However, he’ll only do this when the law dictates he has to. Very generous of him, I’m sure you’ll agree.

Should football fans endorse a murderer?

John Terry, Jon Venables, which one to boo? To most Daily Mail readers this would be a tough choice.

Hat-tip to Dizzy for the inspiration.

Plaid Councillor makes a tit out of himself

March 4, 2010 | Filed Under General, UK Politics, Welsh Politics | 2 Comments

From YourCardiff:

Fairwater councillor, Neil McEvoy, the deputy leader of Cardiff Council, tried to get a resident to bet £100 that the Council was cleaning up the area.

The exchange between Mr Morgan, a Fairwater resident, and Coun. McEvoy came after the resident complained that rubbish was not being collected properly.

Coun McEvoy said: “Want to have a bet? I know the area is being cleaned up and I’m happy to bet £100 with you that I can prove it has been. I will give £100 to charity and I want you, Mr Morgan, to take up that bet.”

Mr Morgan declined to take up the offer.

What an overreacting idiot. Fair enough, the resident may have felt that in their area there wasn’t enough being done to collect rubbish but there’s no need to try and fleece the resident out of £100. This guy is not fit for office.

Gordon Brown learnt to bully from Charlie Whelan

February 22, 2010 | Filed Under Business, General, Media, UK Politics | 1 Comment

So Gordon Brown got his humour from Mandelson, his smile from Campbell and his bullying from Charlie Whelan:

Britain’s biggest union was in turmoil last night after it emerged that three key officials in its political department have been off work for much of the past few months on full pay. They claim that they were bullied by Gordon Brown’s combative former spin doctor, Charlie Whelan.

Ah, it seems there may be a ‘culture of bullying’ inside number 10. After all, Brown did bully Blair for years into stepping down as PM. Then when he took over, Rome fell and as he’s no longer in charge of the country, he has to be in charge of someone, then bullying follows.

I wish both Whelan and Brown would disappear into obscurity.

Update: It seems that Mandelson and Ed Balls have both been helping the ‘bullying culture’ throng inside Downing Street.

Map of where it is held

Another ego-driven blog for me, one that may attract nutters, but who cared! I don’t normally come to political meetings – no conferences, tweet-ups, drinks etc but I thought I’d break with tradition and go to a special Cardiff bloggers meet-up next month.

When? Thursday 11th March
Where? Pica Pica, Cardiff
Time? 7pm
Cost? FREE
What? A short presentation on blogging and a chance to meet other bloggers in the area.  If you pre-register at the site using the link below, you get a free drink! There will be free wi-fi and Tweet using the hashtag #cdfblogs.

The event is hosted by YourCardiff, the Cardiff site I write a weekly blog for. I’ll be there just after work as I don’t finish until 8pm so I hope to see some of my readers and other bloggers!

Click here to read more information on the event and let me know in the comments on this post if you’re planning on going.

Gordon Brown: You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry

February 21, 2010 | Filed Under General, Media, UK Politics | 2 Comments

Of course, many of the claims won’t be correct, but there’s no smoke without fire. This is getting a bit like the Ashley Cole/Tiger Woods media stories: You hear about one incident and several other people pop up with their own experiences.

Whatever is said, being an unpopular Prime Minister in a government past its sell by date during a recession and suffering blow-after-blow from people of other parties as well as his own, we can excuse his anger bursts. However, if the claims that he hit or manhandled his staff in these rages are true, then he needs to get some help.

Daily Mail back up my tip-off (or are they using my blog as a ‘news source’?)

February 19, 2010 | Filed Under General, Media, UK Politics | Leave a Comment

I posted this blog at the beginning of the month when I was told by a reliabe source that the General Election will be held on the 8th of April. Today the Daily Mail has this as their top story:

Quite a coup if right, if you don’t mind me saying.
