Right, so Transport for London need to save money and to do that they’re moving people from behind the ticket office onto the platform to be of better use. They’re also cutting jobs, though through not replacing people who leave their job, rather than compulsory retirement. Sounds fair to me, so why are union members striking? I can think of two reasons:
1. To irritate the government and make a stand against cuts that EVERYONE in the public service (aside from the NHS) has to endure.
2. Because less staff = less union members to pay Bob Crow’s huge £133,000 salary for bullying people.
